More from this Guest Download Transcript (beta) Mike Basevic had it all, and then lost it all. As I read his story, I realized it sounded a lot like mine. That’s no coincidence, as it happens to a lot of men. We go through lives holding it all together and looking good on the outside, but inside we’re falling apart. How do we “man up” in those circumstances and get real? In our culture, it sounds like an oxymoron to even think like that. But high performing men in particular are the most likely ones to look like they have it all, but be empty inside…privately battling anxiety, stress, overwhelm and yes…imposter syndrome. Could this be why so many “well put together” men aren’t finding the right woman? According to Mike, “Everything you want in life is on the other side of your resistance.” So why is it that the “country club set” are so often the most miserable people inside? What is the real reason most men won’t even seek help when they’re at a low point? How does being “perfectly imperfect” apply to us as men in a good way? There are basically two camps of people in Western culture. Which one you’re in will greatly affect how much you struggle in private. Most men refuse to forgive themselves for past failures, whether that’s in their career, their family, or even with women. Why is that? One thing is for sure: Unless and until your authentic side is ready to show up and show out, you will continue to struggle with women.
