For many men, first meetings with women are nothing short of a white-knuckle situation. I mean, you’re excited about being out with a woman, but it could go great, or…not so much.
And as men, we tend to blame ourselves when things go awry. Well, my first-time guest is matchmaker May Bugenhagen, and she’s here to talk about some of the avoidable mistakes many of us make on first dates.
First off, how do we deal with the nervous energy before and during dates? What’s the first thing all men should remember right at the beginning of first dates? (Hint: It should be obvious, but most men rarely even acknowledge it.)
What is the easiest thing in the world a man can do to make a first meeting go well, yet so many men mess it up anyway? Even though it seems almost impossible, what topics should you absolutely avoid on first dates?
How would you answer, “What questions should women ask men on dates?” See if your answer is the same as mine.
What are the secrets to taking ourselves less seriously on dates, in the best way possible? Why is it that May can ask for date feedback from both the man and the woman she set up together, and it sounds like they were on completely separate dates?
What makes one party think the date went well and the other one doesn’t? What’s “second stage fear of rejection”?
How do you handle the “why are you divorced” question? And what about the dreaded “what are you looking for?” question?
