My first-time guest Scotte Burns and his wife have spent nearly a decade and more than 100,000 miles asking one question: What is love…especially in a language like English which infamously only has one word to cover the whole concept?

They got many answers along the way, but which one changed Scotte the most? I mean, what makes a man spend ten years and a hundred thousand miles asking what love is? What were some of the most memorable or transformative encounters they had on the road?

What did men they talked to say about love? How did it differ from what women told them? What do most people get wrong about love?

And how about marriage on the road? Ten years in close quarters with his wife. How did that work?

Scotte says love is not merely an emotion, but something more fundamental. What does he mean by that? And what does it actually mean to love yourself first? (i.e. not a mere platitude) At what point did his search for the meaning of love become a deeper inquiry into consciousness itself?

And here’s a good question: How does love really relate to masculinity and femininity? Why do men struggle more with articulating what love is? How are love and attraction actually related (contrary to conventional wisdom), and is attraction is a prerequisite for love or merely a distraction?
