Returning guest Jonathan Catherman not only wrote the book on masculine preparedness, he’s all about teaching our sons and daughters to be self-reliant and gritty as well.

In the wake of a year’s worth of unforeseen crises of varying magnitude, lots of us as men are rethinking whether or not those ‘disaster prepper’ guys really are the overreacting conspiracy theorists many of us thought they were.

Indeed, although the toilet paper hoarding and such at the grocery stores when COVID hit affected most of us, both Jonathan and I have respectively seen other layers of panic-inducing shortage situations since. Back in March, here in Texas we experienced the unprecedented cold snap accompanied by freakish snowfalls that we dubbed ‘SNOVID’. Meanwhile, even now Jonathan is dealing with a gas shortage in his hometown of Charlotte, NC.

So basically, isn’t it time for all of us to admit we should apply some 20/20 foresight to potential crises that may arise in the future? After all, our minds and bodies respond far better to challenges we’re prepared for than to blatant threats. For this reason, Jonathan prefers the concept of preparedness to survival.

So then, should we should stockpile on canned goods, ammo and firewood…or is all of that secondary to mindset and attitude? Discover the one factor Jonathan considers paramount above all others in order to be truly ready for a crisis, which he repeats several times in this episode.

Also, find out the secrets of military veterans and first responders gleaned from years of proper and effective training. Hint: A lot of this comes down to focusing on what you CAN control versus what you cannot.
