My guest Julie Ferman is a well-known matchmaker who I should have had on the show ages ago, in large part because in many ways she’s like my sister from a different mother. She’s hilarious, unoffendable and agrees with me on most of the dating and relationship stuff we talk about around here.

So with a wild woman like Julie on the mic, you know we needed to bring the noise with a great topic. Therefore, in this show we’re covering how both men and women always seem to be too busy to date nowadays.

What’s the deal? Do people really get way too wadded up in their careers, friends and other adventurous pastimes such that they never get around to sharing life with someone else…even for a couple of hours?

Is it that porn and social media have replaced real people? Is it that nowadays we can’t even be bothered with anyone else anymore in general?

Or wait…is it really all about making excuses? After all, as soon as two busy people meet and fall for each other, these huge chasms of time open up for them to spend with each other, right?

Is all the reticence to crush those excuses and make time for dating really about fear? If so, fear of what, exactly? Is it shyness? Fear of rejection? Or do people simply trust each other less than they used to?

And why shouldn’t most ‘busy’ people hire a matchmaker, according to the matchmaker herself? Enjoy this episode, then get up off the couch and spend time with a great woman.
